What makes the project unique is that it works through direct engagement and effective collaboration. Partnership approach is important: it uses both local and national resources.
WorkWay is run jointly by Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) and Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC). PwDI plays a central role in the project: it is on the National Steering Committee and helps to co-ordinate five Regional Networks.
The WorkWay networks are in Donegal, Galway, the Midlands, Cork and Kerry. Co-ordinators support the networks. They undertake research, build awareness, tie together local resources and work on promotional and communications strategies.
