PwDI was delighted to co-ordinate the EYPD Bus visit to Ireland from July 2 - 9 2003. This was a great opportunity to promote disability awareness around Ireland. The bus started in Greece in January and by December 2003 will visit cities and villages in 15 countries around Europe.
The Bus' visit to Ireland highlighted the day to day problems and inequality faced by people with disabilities. Events and activities around the Bus also celebrated the achievements of people with disabilities.
The Tour attracted a lot of attention all through the week. Events around the Bus ranged from face painting and music performances to street theatre and visits from local celebrities. Various disability organization also took part to tell people about their work and how to become involved.
