This image is also a part of the body of work with disabled children, entitled "Subject Matter 2002". It can be argued that these children are invisible within the larger social arena, a void exists - they are rarely depicted within the arts or media. This work makes them visible but creates debate around disability, identity and celebrates their collective identity.
