SAOIRSE AR AN UISCE!

Launched in 1998, Saoirse ar an Uisce is a 59 foot inland waterways barge specially designed and built to cater for people with intellectual disabilities.

It is wheelchair-friendly throughout the entire boat, boasting a large bathroom / shower, a fully equipped galley kitchen, central heating, double glazed windows, and sleeps a maximum of 8 people.

The barge is based in Monasterevin, County Kildare, on the main Dublin/Cork road (N7), approximately forty miles from Dublin. It is moored on the canal at Bell Harbour, only five hundred metres from the Booking Office, Arts and Crafts shop.

The barge boasts:

. Fully accessibility with boarding ramp
. Wheelchair access throughout the length of the boat
. Open-air viewing at front and rear of boat
. Central-heated throughout
. Fully accessible toilet area
. Fully trained Barge Navigator and crew to navigate the boat

There is an open-air platform at the front and rear of the Barge to facilitate guests to appreciate the breathtaking views while threading through the Inland Waterways of Ireland.

When on board, guests can enjoy the many activities which the Waterways have to offer, such as operating Lock Gates, freshwater angling, wild-life appreciation, or just simply relaxing on deck.

Who can book?
