The Annual General Meeting of Louth Network of People with Disabilities in Ireland took place in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk recently. A lively discussion and exchange of views on disability issues took place. Detailed reports were given by all outgoing members of the Officer Board, among them Secretary Malachy Foots who outlined the work that had been done during the year regarding raising awareness on disability in Louth.

Louth PwDI Network Committee has announced the creation of the post of Youth Officer as an indication of the role that young people can play in the organisation. The move came as a direct result of the Regional Conferences on the theme 'Youth - Beyond Disability' held last October and November.
Jane McDermott, a third level student with a physical disability represented Louth at the Carrickmacross Conference and is one of the young speakers who was scheduled to address the International Conference eon the same theme in Dublin Castle on Tuesday, September 2.
