DUBLIN SOUTH SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT LTD.

Dublin South Supported Employment Ltd is a company set up to provide Supported Employment, supported by FÁS and funded by the NDP 2000-2006. DSSE Ltd is part of a nationwide programme of Supported Employment. There are currently 24 Supported Employment companies operating throughout Ireland.

Supported Employment aims to place people with disability in employment of their choice, based on the person's strengths, interests and capabilities, and provide support as required.

How Do You Access Supported Employment ?

Participants must register with their FAS local office or Local Employment Service, telling them that they wish to avail of Supported Employment. FAS will then refer the Participant to their local Supported Employment Company, or Training Course if required. The Participant will be contacted directly by their assigned Job Coach.

The Job Coach guides the Participant through various stages from an initial needs assessment to identify the type of employment the Participant wishes to pursue. When in employment, both the employee (Participant) and employer are provided with the necessary support and coaching in the workplace. The amount of support provided should decrease over time as the employee adapts to the job and the workplace.
