People with Disabilities in Ireland strategic plan for 2003 - 2006.
Work on the strategic plan started in July 2002. To be able to put
together the Strategy Document, PwDI talked to its
core members, National Board and other stakeholders. The document aims
to help in supporting and enabling PwDI networks to provide a voice for
all people of disabilities.

PwDI held four regional Youth - Beyond Disability seminars in October and
November 2002.
This report sums up policy makers' key commitments. It also summarises
issues that particularly concern young people with disabilities. The report
then outlines the speakers' input in the seminars. Finally there is a summary
of the feedback of workshops held at each of the seminars.

The Government set up the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities
in 1993. Their job was to find out what life is like for people with disabilities
and to give advice on how to make things better. This is the summary of

Conference report and Campaign Toolkit.
Get You Act Together conference was held in Dublin in December 2001.
The purpose of the conference was to inform the context and content of
a Disability Act in Ireland. This report sums up the key issues and concerns
of various speakers and others who took part in the conference.
There is also a Campaign Tool Kit. It gives examples of action to influence
legislation. It is also a tool that can be used in helping people to understand
the proposed bill.

Proposals for Core Elements of Disability Legislation
Disability Legislation Consultation Group (DLCG) was formed after the
Disability Bill was pulled out in 2001. The Group's main job was to talk
to and seek advise from their members on what are the key areas for disability
legislation.This report gives the summaryof what DLCG thinks is important
and should be included when new disability law is written.
